Sistema con gran capacidad para absorber puntas de carga y caudal, que consigue elevados rendimiento de depuración con baja producción de fangos.
En el reactor biológico, se mantiene un cultivo bacteriano en suspensión para la degradación biológica aerobia de la materia orgánica. Desde el reactor biológico, el agua pasa al decantador secundario, donde se separa el efluente depurado de los fangos. Parte de estos fangos se recirculan de nuevo al reactor biológico para manteneruna adecuada concentración de microorganismos, mientras que el resto pasa al sistema de tratamiento de fangos.
