In the bioreactor, a bacterial culture in suspension is for aerobic biological degradation of organic matter. From the biological reactor the water enters into the secondary clarifier, where it is separated the treated effluent from sludge. Some of this sludge is recirculated back to the biological reactor to maintain an adequate concentration of microorganism, while the rest goes to the sludge treatment system. ![]() |
